May 21st - Inagural Monthly Critique session!

Hi all,

One day our friend Gretchen Diehl was talking with us about the problems of an independent artist getting feedback about their work. We spoke about how, when in art school, crits were something we all did regularly, weather we liked it or not.

During school or in classes, this schedule of regular crits helped us all do something very important: we learned to articulate our thoughts and motives regarding our work. Crits also created a discourse for the viewers to give feedback about our work, allowing us to know if our goals were being reached or if we needed improvement somewhere. It also allowed an easy venue for us to learn from our fellow artists.

So we teamed up with Gretchen and are bringing that platform to those of you who wish to participate. Our crit sessions are casual, open to anyone, weather you wish to show work or if you're just intersted in seeing what others in our community are doing and want to give feedback. This is an opportunity for all of us to learn from each other and be inspired by all the great artmaking happening in our city! So, check out our flier, reserve your slot (if you're showing work), and attend our first session on May 21st, 6-9pm. It's a free and open forum for everyone.
