Acting 101: An Exploration of Emotions (October 2006)
From ye olde archives:
The Midwives Collective is pleased to announce the Midwives Gallerys premier exhibition, Acting 101: an exploration of emotions, a photography project curated by founding Midwives members, Christiana Kugel and Sarah Hunt. The idea was derived from the basic concepts of acting improvisation. We anticipate the participation of painters, drawers, printmakers, photographers, filmmakers, and actors, alike.
A prompt, or one line script, will be chosen for each participating artist at random. Playing the roles of actor, director, and photographer, they will then capture the emotional and physical truth of that one moment, all in one 8x10 color photograph. TADA!
The show opens on Friday, October 6th (Opening Reception at 6pm-9pm! Party!) and runs through November 3rd(Closing Reception at 6pm-9pm). Gallery hours: by appointment only.
